I have two data steps, in the first step I subset a data and in the next step I sort the data.

Can we reduce these steps? Can we possibly reduce this to one..? One method would be to use keep and where statement with Sort statement Data.

Volatile Functions
A volatile function is simply a function which will recalculate every time any action is performed on excel, such as entering data, changing column widths etc.(one of the few actions that will not trigger a recalculation of a volatile function is changing the formatting of a cell, unless you do this via Paste Special—Formats. At work my cells that have formulas just stopped updating when I am working live within the workbook. But if I save the entries I made into the cells exit the program and go back in they update.

Any idea what could cause this?

I have two formulas in two cells that generate a cell address in each.How do I use the cell address value given in these cells to select a range (in a formula) and then find the highest number in that range?
