Unable to Export to Flash?

You will find this post useful if:

You have had problems in exporting your dashboard to SWF (even though the preview is available)

You are using the trial version of Xcelsius present, which has the export option to SWF disabled.

If you did not export the latest version of the dashboard and Xcelsius crashed because of some reason.

The solution to all the above problems is in a little known fact about the export process in Xcelsius. Whenever the button ‘Preview’ is clicked, Xcelsius creates a temporary file in the location mentioned below:

C:\Users\analyst\AppData\Local\Temp\Xcelsius (In Vista)
C:\Documents and Settings\analyst\Local Settings\Temp\Xcelsius (In Windows Xp)

Replace “analyst” with your username. The file name is 'Temp.swf'

Xcelsius keeps overwriting it every time the ‘Preview’ Button is clicked.So, whenever there are issues with 'export to SWF' go to this location and view the generated SWF file.

where does is this stored in Win 7?

In Win 7, I go to File -> Export Preview and mine is stored here:

C:\Users\analyst\AppData\Local\Temp\XC_d90\swfBB47.swf
